The hope of parents everywhere, including in the Middle East, is to see their children grow up to become successful members of society, and it goes without saying that schooling plays a central role in seeing the realization of that aspiration. But while the choice of school itself clearly has an impact on later performance, it is the means by which school quality is assessed that remains debatable.
